Just some of the reports from Merseyside Road Policing Unit in the last 24 hours.
After a letter received, reporting vehicles constantly speeding on Rotten Row Southport. RPU officers deployed. More than 10 drivers reported for excess speed
The driver of this Mercedes was spotted driving erratically and swigging from a bottle of wine! She was stopped by members of public who detained her until Police arrived. She was almost four times the legal limit and was arrested.
This stolen HGV on cloned plates came into Merseyside and stole a trailer and container. Fortunately it was reported to us straight away however when we spotted the HGV it immediately drove contra along the M62! It was abandoned on the shoulder and one male was arrested at scene
The driver of this Audi A3 in Rainhill tried to blag us with false details. Unfortunately he'd left his post on the passenger seat with his true details on and it was soon ascertained he still had two months left on his three year disqualification. He was arrested & remanded

There's a widely held but mistaken belief amongst local motorists, that 20mph limits can be ignored without consequences. Looks like some of those people have just received a wakeup call!

Just the sort of irresponsible person we want to have looming up behind us, whilst riding our bikes on-road - eek!

Insurance wouldn't be valid either - we're lucky he didn't squish some innocent road-user.
